ST. CHARLES, MO – Global Spectrum, managers of the Saint Charles Convention Center, has exceeded its 2009 budget by $8,200. This is the fifth consecutive year since opening in April 2005 that Global Spectrum has been able to surpass budget expectations at the facility.
Global Spectrum hosted 378 events at the Saint Charles Convention Center in 2009, attracting over 284,000 people and generating $4.6 million in gross revenue. Attendance was more than 60,000 people over the previous year, and the number of events and gross revenue generated far exceeded the 2004 feasibility study’s expectation of only 202 events and $1.8 million in revenue.
“We are thrilled to have been able to surpass our budget expectations for another consecutive year,” said Shura Garnett, Global Spectrum’s General Manager of the 154,000 sq. ft. facility. “In a year where the economy created so many challenges for us, it is especially rewarding for us to be able to come out ahead in the end and to be able to continue our tradition of success here at the facility.”
“It is with great pleasure that I congratulate Global Spectrum on yet another successful year at the Saint Charles Convention Center,” said Mayor York. “Their commitment to customer service and continuous improvement make the facility a shining jewel within our community. We are very proud that they continue to make us shine!”
"We take a lot of pride, as a company, in managing our clients' expectations and exceeding them," said Global Spectrum Chief Operating Officer John Page. "Shura and her entire team work tirelessly for the City of Saint Charles in assuring the Convention Center is a prime destination for the entire region and a profitable one."
“It has always been our philosophy here at the Saint Charles Convention Center to exceed our client’s expectations and deliver excellent customer service to keep clients coming back,” added Garnett. “We attribute our continued success to being able to uphold these commitments and always looking for ways to improve on how we can better serve the St. Charles community.”
